Felicity Matthews

Prior to graduating from Edith Cowan University with a BSc (Occupational Therapy) in 2010, Felicity established an after-school program for Indigenous students in her remote outback hometown; resulting in her nomination as a finalist in the WA Youth Awards & winner of Silver Chains Caring in the Community Award.

Since completing her degree, Felicity has worked concurrently in both school based paediatrics as well as community based aged care. Her paediatric role involved assessments of students aged 3 – 7 years and facilitating both 1:1 individual therapy intervention as well as small group intervention sessions for primary school aged children, with or without a diagnosis. She has experience working with students, their teachers and families to improve skills across a range of areas including fine motor development and handwriting, visual perceptual skills, motor planning, gross motor skills, sensory processing and attention/concentration. Felicity has also been involved in facilitating workshops for parents and professional development sessions for teachers.

Felicity joined West Coast Occupational Therapy in 2019 and enjoys the varying caseload private practice offers. Felicity primarily works with children aged 3-12 years and has a special interest in working with children who experience handwriting and school based learning difficulties. When not at the practice she enjoys spending time with her rescue dog and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
